NBMP Volunteer Engagement Officer
Bat Conservation Trust
The Bat Conservation Trust has been running the National Bat Monitoring Programme (NBMP) since 1996, making it the longest running multi-species monitoring programme for mammals in the UK. The NBMP currently produces statistically robust population trends for 11 of the UK’s 17 breeding bat species. More than 3500 volunteers have taken part in our surveys at over 7200 roost or field sites around the UK.
We are recruiting a part-time (2.5 days per week) Volunteer Engagement Officer to increase the team’s capacity to engage new volunteers, particularly young people from diverse backgrounds, and help maintain engagement of existing volunteers. The role will also involve helping maintain the motivation of existing volunteers through producing engaging comms content. This is a temporary position lasting 26 weeks. No previous experience is required but the ideal candidate will have good communication skills to motivate, appreciate and support volunteers through written and verbal comms including social media, and an interest and curiosity about the natural world.
