Eisiau chwarae rôl hanfodol yn amddiffyn adar sy’n nythu ar y traeth?
Mae poblogaethau bridio’r Fôr-wennol Fechan, y Cwtiad Torchog, a Phioden y Môr ledled y DU yn agored i aflonyddiad a cholli cynefinoedd.
Mae poblogaeth nythfa’r môr-wenoliaid bach yn y Parlwr Du wedi gostwng dros y blynyddoedd diweddaf. O’r herwydd, rydyn ni’n ehangu ein tîm o wirfoddolwyr ar gyfer tymor bridio 2026 gyda’r nod o helpu i adfer y boblogaeth i lefel gynaliadwy.
Mae angen gwirfoddolwyr arnom er mwyn i’r prosiect lwyddo!
Disgrifiad o’r Rolau
Mae angen gwirfoddolwyr arnom i ymgymryd ag amrywiaeth o rolau drwy gydol y tymor bridio, gan gynnwys:

- Rheoli aflonyddiad gan adar ysglyfaethus
- Cynnal a chadw seilwaith y safle
Syrfewyr i Fonitro a Rheoli Nythod

- Monitro ysglyfaethwyr
- Rheoli aflonyddiad gan adar ysglyfaethus.

Pam gwirfoddoli gyda ni?
Mae gwirfoddoli gyda ni yn gyfle gwych i gael effaith wirioneddol o ran gwarchod byd natur. Byddwch yn gweithio fel rhan o dîm cyfeillgar ac yn cwrdd â phobl o’r un anian â chi. Byddwn yn cynnig sesiynau cynefino a hyfforddiant i sicrhau eich bod yn barod ar gyfer y rôl, ac yn datblygu sgiliau ymarferol ar gyfer gwarchod rhywogaethau
Sgiliau a Phrofiad
Wardeiniaid Traethau
Byddwch yn cael sesiwn gynefino a hyfforddiant llawn, felly does dim angen profiad blaenorol ym maes cadwraeth arnoch.
Dyma rai o’r sgiliau cyffredinol a all fod yn ddefnyddiol:
- Gallu gweithio mewn tîm ac ar eich liwt eich hun
- Gallu ymgysylltu’n dosturiol â’r gymuned leol ac ymwelwyr fel ei gilydd, gan feithrin ymdeimlad o gyd-gyfrifoldeb a gofal dros ein prosiect adar sy’n nythu ar y traeth.
Syrfewyr i Fonitro a Rheoli Nythod
Yn ogystal â’r sgiliau sydd eu hangen i fod yn warden traeth uchod
- Profiad blaenorol o fod yn syrfëwr adar yn fanteisiol
- Gwybodaeth am adar sy’n nythu ar y ddaear a bywyd gwyllt lleol fel arall
- Gallu adnabod adar
Gofynion y rôl a hygyrchedd
Gofynnwn i wirfoddolwyr ymrwymo i 1 shifft yr wythnos ar gyfartaledd rhwng mis Mai a mis Gorffennaf, sef y prif dymor bridio. Bydd hyfforddiant a thasgau seilwaith y safle yn dechrau fis Ebrill, ac efallai y gofynnir i wirfoddolwyr ddal ati drwy fis Awst. Caiff shifftiau wardeiniaid eu trefnu gan ddefnyddio system tair shifft y dydd rhwng gwawr a gwyll, 7 diwrnod yr wythnos yn ystod y tymor bridio, a gall hyn fod yn hyblyg o gwmpas eich anghenion. Mae pob shifft yn para tua 6 awr. Dylech fod yn gyfforddus yn mynd i’r ardaloedd wardeinio ym mhob tywydd.
I wirfoddoli ar y safle, bydd angen lefel gymedrol o ffitrwydd arnoch i gerdded o’r meysydd parcio i’r mannau wardeinio ac yn ôl, yn ogystal â cherdded ar y traethau eu hunain. Fe’ch cynghorir i wisgo esgidiau synhwyrol. Byddwn ni’n darparu unrhyw offer, hyfforddiant, ac iwnifform sydd eu hangen arnoch i gyflawni’r rôl.
Want to play a vital role in protecting beach-nesting birds? Little tern, Ring Plover and Oystercatcher breeding colonies throughout the UK are vulnerable to disturbance and habitat loss. The population of the Point of Ayr (P.o.A.) little tern colony has declined over recent years and as such for the 2026 breeding season we are increasing our volunteer team with an aim to help recover the population to a sustainable level.
We need volunteers to make this project a success!
Role Description
We need volunteers for a variety of roles throughout the breeding season, including:
Beach Wardens
- Warden the beach ahead of the little tern colony to protect the birds from public disturbance.
- Public engagement
- Managing Avian predator disturbance
- Maintaining site infrastructure
Surveyors for Nest monitoring & management
- Bird counts
- Nest counts
- Predator monitoring
- Managing Avian predator disturbance.
- Maintaining site infrastructure
Why volunteer with us?
Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to make a real impact in protecting nature. You will work as part of a friendly team and meet like-minded people. We will offer training and induction to ensure that you are prepared for the role and develop practical skills in species protection.
Skills & Experience
Beach Wardens
A full training induction will be provided so you do not need previous experience in conservation. General skills which will be useful include:
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- A compassionate way of engaging with the local community and visitors alike, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and care for our beach-nesting bird project.
Surveyors for Nest monitoring & management
In addition to the skills included in the Beach warden role above
- Previous experience as bird surveyor, advantageous.
- Knowledge of ground nesting birds and other local wildlife
- Bird identification
Role requirements & accessibility
We ask that volunteers commit to an average of 1 shift per week from May to July, the main breeding season. Training and site infrastructure tasks will begin in April and volunteers may be asked to continue into August. Warden shifts are scheduled over a daily three shift system from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week during the breeding season and can be flexible around your needs. Each shift last approx. 6 hours. You should also be comfortable visiting the wardening areas in all weather conditions.
To volunteer on-site you will need moderate physical fitness for walking to and from the car park(s) to the wardening points as well as on the beach areas themselves. Good sensible footwear is advised. We will provide the equipment, training and any uniform needed for you to complete the role.
If you are interested in volunteering with us we would love to hear from you. With your help, we can protect the Point of Ayr little tern colony long into the future.
